Rationale

As the world confronts the dual crises of climate change and environmental degradation, the urgency to adopt integrated, scalable, and sustainable solutions has never been greater. Climate-related impacts—ranging from extreme weather events to biodiversity loss—are accelerating, placing unprecedented pressure on ecosystems, economies, and vulnerable communities worldwide.

Nature-based Solutions have emerged as a promising pathway to address these interconnected challenges. By harnessing the power of ecosystems, they not only offer cost-effective means of sequestering carbon but also enhance the resilience of both natural and human systems. From reforestation and mangrove restoration to agroforestry and sustainable watershed management, nature-based approaches contribute significantly to climate mitigation, adaptation, biodiversity conservation, and livelihood improvement.

The 6th International Conference on Environment and Forest Conservation brings together scientists, policymakers, practitioners, community leaders, and private sector stakeholders to explore and advance the role of nature-based Solutions in building a climate-resilient future. With a special focus on climate resilience and carbon sequestration, this year’s theme fosters critical dialogue on how ecosystems can serve as powerful allies in meeting global climate goals while delivering a range of co-benefits for people and the planet.
